What Are The Most Important Things To You When Looking For An Auto Repair Shop?

I do the marketing for an Auto Repair Shop. I am looking for answers from men & women on what you think is most important in your search/service from an Auto Repair Shop. I am also looking for new ideas – What would you like to see at your local Auto Repair Shop? Extra services provided?

Referrals from trusted other people, mostly other women. Honesty about repairs and pricing is key for me.
Honesty!!! It is so hard to find a shop to TRUST. If I could I would stick with them forever! Find a way to get that across to your potential customers. My father had a repair/body shop when I was growing up and I had 4 older brothers. I also hate being treated like am a “dumb woman” when I am in a garage also. Make one customer happy and the word of mouth goes a long way. I think when possible you should give them back the old part to show them it needed replaced. As for extra services, maybe a menu of few things you could offer of their choice, air in tires would be a good one for me, maybe vacuum front carpet, or something seasonal like a top off of fluids or car wash. Although for good service none of that is a draw for me, the mechanic is. I wish you luck!
The things I look for are:
- warrantied work, just in case
- clean office area and shop (not immaculate but presentable)
- friendly staff
- HONESTY when suggesting fixes and willingness to explain and show problems
I love my current shop because they are friendly and will find the problem and discuss the cost and severity of the problem before any work is done. They also shop around for the parts needed and ALWAYS go with the best price. I also recently had a problem with my starter breaking, and they replaced it under warranty, and only charged for half of the labor!!!
certified mechanic, low prices, availability, extra service could be a free wash and the vacuuming of the vehicle
I like CLEAN waiting roooms!
