In Oct 2009, I was in an accident where my car was hit near the rear drivers side, I was not at fault. The other insurance company paid for the damages. I took it to a dealer which I thought they would check everything since it was hit near the tire. Then in Jan I had to replace my windshield wiper bar and also replaced a wheel bearing on the front of my car which included a front end alignment. None of this was related to the accident. Two weeks ago my rear drivers side tire was making a really bad noise. found out the tire was stripped down to the belts. I called my insurance company and they said to talk to the other insurance company that took care of the accident and request a rework. I called them and they told me that it was too late to do anything. I took it to the dealership and they told me it was because I probably had a suspension problem. I took it to a tire place and they freaked out and just by looking at it the whole car was out of alignment. I bought the tires in 2008 with alignment and they only have 27000 miles on them and they have been rotated about every other oil change. So now I had to pay out of my own pocket $750 for new tires and all wheel alignment. do I have any rights on trying to sue the repair shop for not even doing an alignment when I was in the accident or do you think they slacked off on the alignment they did in Jan.
I found a 2000 lifted jeep cherokee with low miles for a very good price. The only catch is it has rolled on its side. There are a few minor damages that I’m not worried about such as windshield replacement a broken sway bar linkage and it needs a new side view mirror. I should be able to afford these things. The thing I’m most worried about is the A pillar. Its bent which caused the windshield to break. The previous owner said he had a replacement. My question is, how easy and how much would it cost to simply switch out the pieces. I don’t know anything about car body work and I only have about $1500 to work with in total. So with all the other repairs would this be worth buying and fixing up?
i have a 2000 Chrysler Sebring Convertible w/ 85,000 miles on it. The transmission went and its also running on 5 cylinders instead of 6 so I also need a tune up. It’s going to cost me about $2000 to fix!!! Is it worth it to fix it or is the engine going to go to after 6 months, then all that money goes to waste
HELP!!!!
A 2000 Tauras My Ins. only give me $4700. $10,900 @ 25% interest for 42.5 months. 30 day safety warranty they choose wether it’s worth fixing. My rear strut were SHOT and they refued to fix it. My transmission fluid is black, My power steering fliud is black, my coolant is rusty my tires are worn. I have to make these repairs and make the car payments of $365 a month. I need to give this car back legally. If I just take it back to them they will turn around and resell it and what ever the remaining balance is I am responsible for. NO COOL off period. Please help me.
My brother is looking for his first car and asked for my help searching! He really doesn’t wanna spend more than $700-$900 but still expects to get something sporty/cool that runs well. We recently saw a 1999 Dodge Avenger for sale near our house and he’s very interested in it. The car looks great and has nice looking racing wheels on it. It has some damage on the driver seat’s leather, but overall seems like a very nice car for him. The major problem is the owner says the transmission is doing something he calls “slipping”. I don’t know much about cars, but I’m pretty sure this is gonna mean that the transmission will have to be either replaced or repaired somehow. So basically, should he bother with it buying it at all? How much will transmission work cost for a car like that? I think he’s getting a bit impatient because he’s pretty sure he’s not gonna find a sporty car like an Avenger for that price again soon (since most of our searches turn up with Taurus, Hyundai, Kia, etc… he hates those, thinks they’re “girly”) but with a messed up transmission I’m not sure if it’s such a good idea to buy.
The seller is asking for $800, but he’s willing to take $600 if you bring your own tires lol!
I have a 99 Ford Escort with ~ 133K miles on it. Recently, I noticed the paint starting to peel and some rust forming on the frame underneath the doors. The car is in good shape, but is it really cost effective to have the rust repaired? How much could that cost?
My husband has a 1995 honda civic hatchback. He swerved to avoid and animal and hit a tree. the front has a lot of damage- hood bent and wont open, headlight hanging ff and bumber scraping the ground. Also we think the radiator is busted. Unfortunately I only have basic coverage so ins won’t pay. We are completely broke but dependant on this vechile for work and such. Niether of us is mechanically inclined so we would have to go to a shop and pay for new parts and labor. Any idea of how much? I dont care about it looking “pretty” just want it to run. Can they just rip the bumper off and fix the hood and radiator? PLEASE HELP
I was in my horse field yesterday and I found a old blue Ford tailbed, it has some rust on it and it still says ford on it and everything. How much do you think it would be worth?
