Im a trucker and i want to do my own minor repairs to save money. belt replacing and tightening, any hoses you can reach in a grab without taking other parts off first, head lamps, alternators, battery replacement….that kind of repair. im tired of going to a truck stop where some kid that just started yesterday does in 3 hours what i could have done in one because the labor is charged by the hour and its always more than the part.
yes sir. yesterday a young man at a travel center took and charged me 4 hours labor to put in one pice of 2 foot flex pipe. i swear i could have put it in my self. he said he had troulble getting in there where it connects to the turbo. is it that tight? 3 to 4 hours tight? last month freightliner put a brand new radiator for me but evidently they didnt pressure test the system; they just hooked it up and shipped me out. now i have a radiator leak and i cant tell where its coming from because it doesnt leak all the time. i put a gallon of coolant in and at some point down the road its gone but i cant see the leak.
