Hey everybody,

I have a 2001 Ranger 4cyl 2.3L.

I had to replace the throw out bearing in my clutch a while back. Repair went well and still works, but while putting the transmission back in it got dropped on a wire harness and landed on the plastic connections for both the upstream and downstream 02 sensors. We moved the transmission and found a mangled mess of broken plastic and random colored wires. I decided to skip buying new connectors and just rewire the sensors straight through with butt end connectors. Here’s the problem:
Everything was destroyed so I don’t know which of the colorful wires from the truck side match up with the sensors’ black, white (2) and gray wires.

Here’s what I’ve got:
Obviously each sensor has 2 white wires, a black and a gray.
Then on the upstream side from the truck I have:
Red w/ white stripe
Teal (greenish) w/ orange stripe
Gray w/ light blue stripe
Solid Orange

Then downstream
Orange (same as upstream)
Teal w/ orange (same as upstream)
Red w/ green stripe (different)
White w/ black (different)

Does anybody know which wire goes where?

Also, this all presupposes that wiring straight through is a legitimate way of fixing the problem. Is that so?
