This was a request from a while ago and I’m happy to get to it now. I did a bunch of video on this car (1990 Honda Accord LX) and have lots more to show you in future episodes. Honda captive rotors are a pain to say the least. For the most part you can take them somewhere that is equipped with an on-the-car brake lathe to have them machined when they get warped but in this cast they were too thin and damaged for machining and needed to be replaced. I have to admit that this job does not always go this easy, it usually requires a lot more effort, some pain, and perhaps a little blood to accomplish but I guess it was trying to behave for the camera on this day. Astute views may notice that I switched sides for the video, that’s because I ended up replacing the wheel bearing on the side that I started with and did the disassembly a bit differently as a result, good eye if you spotted that. I’ll be posting more videos from this car in future weeks so keep an eye out if you have one of these that needs some work. You can visit me at EricTheCarGuy.com ericthecarguy.com Stay dirty ETCG
From 1:50 on shows some parts & color options for rims, forks, calipers, & rotors. This is a sneak peak video of pictures of my 2003 Kawasaki Z1000 that I have been using to make a ZX14 upgrade package to sell on Ebay. Not installed yet &/or missing from the pictures are the rear master cylinder & lines, the 530 chain, the upgraded front brake master cylinder, the tail plastic & the rear fender on the swingarm. The parts I changed or upgraded for the ZX14 package are: Brand new front & rear ZX14 rims with brand new tires & new rear hub, brand new ZX14 front & rear brake rotors 310mm front & 250mm rear, a barely used ZX14 under hung dual piston rear brake caliper with modified mounting bracket & ZX14 longer brake line, used 3k miles 07-08 ZX6R silver forks, used 5K miles 2005 Yamaha R6 front monoblock calipers with 0 mile EBC HH pads & used Goodridge lines, a new 530 size 15 tooth front sprocket, a new 530 DID gold drive chain, & a new 43 tooth 530 rear ZX14 sprocket. The strictly performance upgrades in this package are the fully adjustable front forks, the radial mount monoblock front calipers or stock ZX6R/ZX10R calipers, a 3/4″ (20% more powerful) radial front brake master cylinder not the stock 5/8″ Z1000 master, a 10% more powerful ZX14 rear master cylinder, stainless Goodridge 3.2mm front brake lines, the 10mm bigger ZX14 front rotors & 30mm bigger rear rotor, the dual 38mm piston rear brake caliper with mounting bracket modified on a mill. SOME OF THE THINGS THAT …

I have had my 92 Saturn SL2 since 2003. I bought it from a small dealership in California (I live in Michigan now). It said 152,000 miles on it but the dealer said a newer engine was put in it to pass the smog test (I never found out how many miles were on the newer engine, plus, the mileage stopped working at 172,000 miles).
Today the mechanic said I need brake pads and rotors ($170 parts/labor) and struts ($210-$280 parts/labor). SHOULD I GET THIS DONE?
I’ve already gotten so much fixed such as radiator, timing chain, tie rod, alternator, battery, serpentine belt, etc, over the years.
I also have an oil leak under the car – they showed it to me during the oil change (I’m not worried about this repair yet). The car idles high sometimes. Sometimes I have to “rev” the gas for it to start, and sometimes in neutral it makes the “put put” sound like it might cut off.
If I don’t get repairs, then I would just drive the car AS-IS for a few more months.
I have a 1998 Chevy truck that only has 24,000 miles on it. Isn’t this too early for the rotors needing to be resurfaced or replaced? I can feel it when I break hard at a stop light. Thanks.
I just got an estimate from the dealer to have that work done. They quoted me about $1100 including the alignment. Is this about right? Or am I getting ripped off? My vehicle is a 2003 Dodge Stratus SXT

4×4. Already remove caliper, now I just can’t figure out what to do next. Is the rotor screw in or what’s holding it in place. Local auto parts guy said it should slide off?
