I have a 89 chevy 1/2 ton 4×4 with a few mods done to it. not really the serious offroad truck but it does see its use. i have rebuilt the rear end (10 bolt) three times due to poor work from a shop 1 time and twice from mechanical failure. I have killed it again with my stupidity of using it as a tractor. I want a strong bolt in with 4.56 gears and still be able to run my six lug wheels since they are new and fairly expensive. I am running 35 14.50 tires on it and do know that it is not the best for the truck. any help for some good companies to check into will be greatly appreciated.

Lately i have been hearing this grinding noise coming from the rear end of my car shortly after every take off. It usually happens at about 10 mph and around that area.
I don’t know exactly what its coming from, but it doesn’t sound good at all. It sounds like a gear grinding or something. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a 88 mercedes 260e and my rear brakes aren’t working. for a while I’ve been driving the car and the ABS light flashes sometimes and the brakes worked fine but they sqeaked really bad when the brakes were warm. my uncle said that there is something wrong with the caliper so he checked them out. He took it apart and notice the rust on the piston. so he sanded the piston and the piston bore and kind of repaired it.He said he did this all the time when he was a teenager in his country. After we got done with the job we tried to bleed the brakes but nothing but air comes out. we were bleeding them for more than 2 hours trying to figure what was wrong. we bleed each one by one, rear right to rear left to front right to front left. we tried bleeding with the engine on and the engine off. So we are stumped! now the car drives with only the front brakes. I need serious help. what could be wrong?

I googled it and it sounds pretty much like its a vent hose for the rear axle. It is still connected to the axle it is dragging on the ground tho. Can anybody tell me where the other end of the hose connects to on the truck?

The exterior case looks rusty and filled with corrosion. I think the actual piece costs $800; but how much time does it take to replace?
