Hi, I bought a manual car about 7 months ago, thinking I would be able to get my manual licence. However, I failed the test 3 times, and had been learning how to drive a manual 18 months before I took the test. I find that I make many more mistakes when driving under the stress of test conditions, and made hardly any when in the relaxed atmosphere of a lesson. I then realized that normal driving could get just as stressful as a test, and that an automatic would be the best option for me in terms of confidence and safety. Now the problem is – I have a rather nice Daihatsu Sirion (2003 model), that has done just 30,000 kms. My question is – is it possible to buy (from a wrecker or spare parts business) an automatic transmission of the same make and model as my current car, and replace the manual transmission? Or should I just trade my current car in for an automatic? I’d prefer the cheaper (and safer) option, as trading my car in would most likely involve me needing a loan from the bank.

I just bought a car for $13,000 with taxes and I have $11,000 left to pay on it. I don’t want anything to do with the car since I am moving to the city and I would like to sign everything over to my friend if possible. Is it possible to transfer a loan from Toyota Financial services over to my friend and sign the car over to him?
I called them and the correct awnser is that it is possible if my friend has a credit score equal to or better than mine.

Should I consider a new engine?
I bought it only a month ago and have white smoke in the tailpipe, loss of coolant, and unreadable oil level.

Can a society go from dirt roads to super highways overnight?
Sorry about locking up your brain. Maybe you should take a nap and then rejoin the forum.

1995 Dodge Intrepid. The AC works most of the time, cold and powerful. But every once in a while (esp on very hot days) the compressor itself will seize up while the car is running, dragging the drive belt across the pulley causing an awful squeal. If I turn off the AC for 20 seconds, and turn it back on, everything is fine for another 5-15 minutes. Then it repeats.
One person told me I have to replace the AC unit completely ($$$), and another said I could have JUST the compressor clutch repaired. ($$).
Which route do you think is best. I need it done as cheap as possible. I don’t have a lot of income (student) and I’m scared that one day the drive belt will break causing me to be stranded somewhere I don’t want to be.

I have a 1979 Volkswagen Super Beetle. It’s a convertible and I love it! I am learning how to drive the manual transmission and having a bit of trouble. I have heard that Beetles had an auto stick transmission in the late 60′s to early 70′s. Is it possible to put one of these auto stick transmissions into this Beetle? How much work is involved in something like this?

I want to put a sub woofer in my 2007 Pontiac G6, but I would like to keep the factory radio and the Monsoon sound system that came standard with it. Is this possible? How? Thanks.

engines appear identical and are the same displacement, but the 325ix is an awd car and the 528e is rwd. will the bellhousing from the older 528e bolt up to the tranny in the 325ix, and what about the motor mounts?

My last car was a Honda Accord, which I was able to get at invoice price after much negotiating.
I know that an Acura would fall into a different brand category (it would be a step up from a Honda or a Toyota, etc). Will negotiating with an Acura dealer get me anywhere? I really want to get it at invoice!

yes currently working on my neighbors van I am a marine technition so i have a pretty good understanding of engine operations and components. But still fresh out of school i have alot to learn and thought this would be a good hands on experience. We had the vans service codes (service engine soon light obd2) at advance auto. They said it showed EGR and a no fire situation on #4. I replaced EGR valve and put new plugs w/ wires.I then checked the #4 plug after running it and it showed to be firing. I also replaced fuel filter, engine has new pcv valve and air filter. how can i verify my injectors?(resistance is is spec for injectors 4,5,6. ). will i damage any o-rings if i pull them out with the ignition disabled and crank engine??
