i was pulling into a parking spot when my car scratched another guys car I looked to see if there was a scratch but i unforutnately checked the wrong spot and saw nothing, i then got a note on my window when i returned that i had scratched parts of both his side doors i think the scratches are medium sized and hopefully not very deep, but other then that i have no idea how big and deep they actually are, but if you could make an educated guess, how much might my insurance or myself have to cover this scratch with? (i have farmers and the man said he would get a quote from the dealer but it might not get repaired their if the quotes too high)
I just bought the bike Saturday night and the guy i bought it from lied to me and said there was nothing wrong on the bike. the next day i go to my garage to get the bike for a ride and there is a leak. I asked around and they told me it was my Stator Cover and for me to check and torque down the bolts to the required torque. and someone else told me to check if it’s cracked, if not, just get a new gasket and put it back together. Refill engine with oil. And then check for leaking…
but i know NOTHING about bikes and i really need the help. But i’m without a job and i can’t afford those high priced mechanics at dealers. can anyone help me? I’ll buy pizza and beer!!!
I was hit a month ago by a female who backed out of a parking lot without stopping. She caused damage to my passenger quarter panel and broke my head lamp. Her insurance company GEICO told me to take it to their adjuster which is a local car dealership here in town. I took it and two ladies came out with a camera and stated that my repairs were minor and that they were going to complete an alignment, and replace all damaged parts on the exterior. Stated that it was going to take 3 days to fix. I got the vehicle back in 7 days, and left the lot. About 10 minutes went buy, I drove into a gas station to fill up and the car stalled out on me. I tried turning the key but it would not start, it was making a clicking sound. The dealership stated that they were going to send someone to look at it. Two guys they sent from the dealership didn’t even know where the battery was but then magically stated that it might be my starter. There was nothing wrong with my vehicle before I took it in to the body shop. They stated that they are going to have to tow it back in and run a diagnostic. They towed my vehicle again and I drove by the dealership for two days and saw my vehicle was parked in the same position with my tires in the same position for two days like no one wanted to touch it. I then talked to the body manager who stated that they need to get it up on the lifter to check the starter and he stated that he was going to hit it around to see if he can start it. The lady behind the desk also stated that GEICO was not going to pay for internal damages such as the starter or the battery because it was not listed by the adjuster. They stated that whatever is wrong with my car was not part of the accident. At that point I was very upset I did not know what to do I actually felt so used. My car was working fine until I took it in to the dealership. I towed the car back to my house because no one wanted to help me or tell me what was going on with my car. My dad is a mechanic and he stated that my engine might be shot. This is the first car I ever bought and took care of it exceptionally well until I got hit by this stupid young girl. I then talked to the general manager of the dealership who stated that I should have talked to her before I towed my car and that she has seen numerous NEW vehicles leave her parking lot and their engines would go out. She stated that it might be bad timing. I told her that my vehicle was working fine until they started doing whatever work they were doing and ruined my car. She told me to take my vehicle back in to the service department and they would look at it for me again and let me know what’s going on. The general manager made it sound like that they were going to check to see what’s wrong with my car but they were not going to pay for it. I am so fed up with their crap. I think I should contact my insurance company and let them know what’s going on. Can anyone tell me or help me with what direction I should go. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
JUST GOT A CALL FROM THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED THAT MY ENGINE IS LOCKED. I WANT TO CRY!!! I DONT HAVE A CAR AND THEY WONT FIX IT. THEY STATED THAT IT IS MY FAULT AND GEICO IS NOT GOING TO PAY FOR IT BECAUSE IT WAS NOT DAMAGE THAT WAS DONE FROM THE ACCIDENT!!!
I’ve got a 2003 Toyota Corolla CE which until now has given me zero trouble. But I noticed last week it’s been leaking oil, and pretty significantly at that. I’m thinking I might need new gaskets – but then again I know very little about cars. Any idea what I could be looking at spending?
I bought a 1984 318i BMW, and i LOVE it. I hope to restore it, but I don’t know where to start. I know a little bit about cars but not as much as I wish did, so any advince would be very helpful. However the main question I have is, How big of an engine will fit in this frame?
I have a 99 kia sephia, manual transmission. Disc Brakes. When I pull up the e-brake all the way up, it helps very little, but I have to pull all the way up extremely hard. Sometimes that even does not work. And even if I just pull up a little, sometimes when I put it back down, my ebrake light stays on. Know what is wrong with ebrake? And why light might stay on? Thank you.
The Check Engine Light is okay during startup, warmup and a few minutes driving. But after a few miles, the light comes on and it reads a knock sensor problem.. Anyone know why the light pops up after a few miles?
1992 Honda Prelude
Today I got into a car accident. I was driving, my mother was the passenger. When I pulled up into a parking spot, instead of going in reverse to back out I mistakenly hit the gas and plowed into a small buisness. The buisness was empty at the time. But the cops were called by the the the buisnesses next to it. (it’s a strip mall). The police showed up and took my information.
But the problem is, the car I was driving belonged to my mother and she had no insurance and to make matters worse I have a driving permit but I didn’t have it in the car with me.
Luckily, the cop just wrote me a ticket for operating a motor vehicle without insurance and let me off the hook but they towed my mother’s truck and took pictures.
He took all my information and told me that the owner of the buisness will be contacting me soon to see how much it will cost to repair his buisness. I have no job or insurance so I don’t know how I will pay the costs of the damage. I’m sure the owner of the buisness has insurance though. But I have a court date in June for the ticket but I don’t know if the owner will be there also to press charges against me. If he decides to sue me and I can’t repay him for the damage (It is estimated 12,000 dollars in damages) will I go to jail since I don’t have the money?
I don’t know what to do.
I just added the refrigerant it was spraying around lightly frmo somewhere i couldn’t tell but it ended up being wet all over. Wherever it was leaking from it was getting sprayed around by the fans. It was real wet where the hose with the port connected to what looks like the compressor, dripping down it. I tried a stop leak can afterwards but I hardly doubt that will do anything and I think most of it leaked out already anyhow.
Can’t you use a volt meter to check them? I have a problem with my car starting. It is fuel injected and I have to pump the gas when I am cranking the engine to get it to start. It just started happening a couple days ago.
I have a 1994 Honda Civic EX
I had just completed changing the air filter and putting the new filter back in the airbox. I cranked the car and the idle is racing. I have checked to see that all hoses are intact, but it still has the symptoms of a vacuum leak. This happened to me the last time I changed the air filter and The Chrysler dealer said they found a cap off the vacuum line. I cannot find a vacuum line that has a cap, so I am seeking anyones help. Thanks
