I looked up how to drive a manual transmission and I think it’s pretty complicated. So i was wondering if they are gonna have a option of an automatic transmission for the RWD Tiburon.

I just bought a VW Beetle 99 with 140k miles last month. It passed state I/M tests. It runs good. A week before, the engine died due to transmission problems. The dealer fixed the problem now.
I want to know how I know if the engine’s condition is good or not?
When the car needs to have tune up?
I am planning to have road trip next week. I want to make sure everything runs good. I dont want to have troubles when I am at the location between 2 cities.

hi i tring to learn how to dirve a stick but have some trouble figuring it out. from what i get each gear is like a range of speed, 1st can be from 0-20mph, 2nd from 20-40, 3rd from 40-60, and 5th from 60-speeding ticket. is this right? is there any other way of looking at it that might help me get a hang of it better?
my second ??? is about down shifting, if im going 60mph in 5th gear, and then i slowdown to 25mph, can i shift all the way down to 2nd?

I’ve had this used car for 7 months, bought the extended warranty which has helped some. So far I’ve already had to replace the transmission and the water pump and now it’s in the shop again and they’re telling me the electrical system is shot. The warranty helped pay for the first two repairs but they are refusing to help with this one. Some electrical problems are covered by the warranty but not all. I feel like I’m being screwed over and that this car is a worthless hunk of junk. I owe $3000 on the car and I don’t want it to ruin my credit. Thinking of contacting a lawyer but I’m afraid of the expense of that. Afraid I’ll lose the case and end up with the car, it’s payments, repair bills and a lawyer’s bill. Help!

The original engine was replaced in Germany, by a German mechnic. Therefore, the decal under the hood still shows 318i data. Is there another engine ID located somewhere on the engine? I beleive it is either a 325e or 325i. It is a six cylinder.

…add to my existing entry): I took my car into the repair shop because it was leaking brownish colored fluid from a hose…located under the front area towards the right (passenger) side. I am not disputing that they diagnosed it correctly…I am sure they did. I just wanted to ask if $250 sounds like a “fair” price, to make sure I am not getting ripped off (have been ripped off by mechanics several times before, although I know that probably the majority of them are trustwothy & skilled).
Also, is it advisable to get the hoses replaced (now that I think about it, isn’t that what they do anyway to fix it…but they asked me if I wanted the hoses replaced too)? Do I need to get the radiator flushed? For all that, the charge would be $450-500, but they said to at least get the water pump fixed ($250).
I am a single parent, working & in college part-time & don’t have much money to spend at the present time, so any mechanical advise would be appreciated. Thanks.

I’ve just become interested in how things work, how to build them, invent them, etc. And I am looking for a book that has a general overview of all engineering. I know that is a wide subject but I just need the basics. I am most preferably looking into mechanics, weapons, vehicles, transportation machines and computers. Anything in that area will help. Thanks in Advance.

I met this man who for almost a year, was the best thing since sliced bread. Almost 5 months ago, we moved from MS to SC. At that time he practically became unemployed, as he is a self employed mechanic and had lost his client base. I am disabled and my entire disability check has gone toward paying our mutual bills while his earnings have been spent on fixing up his pickup or buying more tools. We argue constantly about who is being irresponsible, I say that he needs to help pay bills, and he says that I need to be more of a housewife- am unable to do much housework because of my disability. Is he using me?

How it works according to the site:
To get these kind of benefits and installing a PCD Performance chip might sound daunting at first, but with clear cut instructions and a straight forward installation process; even the most novice of mechanics can install the unit in less than 15 minutes. There is no soldering involved. You’ll locate your vehicle’s IAT sensor and your new Chip will be installed via the factory harness.
You do not have to purchase any other items in order to install the PCD Chip. Once installed, the new signal will be sent to your computer and will take effect immediately. Your timing is automatically adjust without setting it manually with a timing light, your fuel injector duty increases automatically when it needs to and air / fuel ratios are tweaked as you shift through each gear. Manual transmission or Automatic transmission; it doesn’t matter.
