I have a 1994 jeep Cherokee. 213K miles about. Engine and transmission feel nice and strong. Pretty good tires too. 4X4 works, part time, full time, and 4lo I’m getting a new car so this is extra and i want to put it to use.
If i can find a good deal on a plow should i jump on it? I want to use it to go around the neighborhood and charge $20 to do a driveway. How well would a jeep handle this type of work.
I have head since it’s a unibody the rear wind-shield will shatter if i hit a curb or anything?
Also would i need to get a transmission cooling setup and stuff.
If at all possible i want to get a winch operated plow with manual angling so i dont have to tap into power steering, but either way is this a good idea?
My 1995 Jeep Cherokee Country with the 4.0 liter inline 6 motor. I wanted a louder exhaust, so I removed my Cherry Bomb Turbo muffler today and took a video on my cell phone while driving around. Exhaust was dumping out after the catalytic converter, just after the crossmember. It was pretty loud inside of the cab! But not extremely loud over all, due to the fact that the catalytic converter quiets down the exhaust some versus not having any catalytic converter at all! My 1995 Jeep Cherokee Country with the 4.0 liter inline 6 motor. I wanted a louder exhaust, so I removed my Cherry Bomb Turbo muffler today and took a video on my cell phone while driving around. This video was after I finished putting on the full exhaust and having it dump out just before my leaf spring shackle. Even with all of the windows down, the sound inside is only a little bit louder than with the muffler! I was originally thinking of buying something like a Flowmaster or Glasspack, but I have to say, for only spending less than $3.00 for an exhaust clamp, this is a pretty cost effective way of basically doing the same thing. It is probably only a little bit louder than having a Flowmaster 40 series. Although I will have to try it out for awhile to see if I fully want to keep it the way it is. All of the windows were down for this video as well.
I don’t keep much in here, yet alone, run the AC. I don’t know what i am doing wrong.
As a Child Protective Services Worker, I’m constantly doing Town and Neighborhood Driving (You know how that is).
I’m thinking about buying one of those “MPG Performance plugs”, But i hear they’re just a bunch of crap and don’t help the MPG at all.
I’m only getting around 20MPG on the highway and 17MPG in Town.
Any Tips on getting better Gas Mileage?
This vehicle is so great and so fun, i’d hate having to sell it for a fuel efficient vehicle.
And yes, i know that from going to a Saturn to a jeep, i know their would be a great loss in MPG.
So when I turn my wheel i hear a god awful noise in the pulley area….and my power steering fluid container shoots fluid out of the seal of the cap…..bad power steering pump or….?
97 wrangler.
I haven’t put fluid in since last summer – and when I did, I didn’t over fill it.
sounds like metal – i originally thought the pulley was loose but i looked at it running and it doesn’t seem to be…
I took a look under my Jeep and it looks like the axle housing is coming out from the rear differential. Is this possible? The clicking noise increases when I drive faster, but it is always at the same volume. Is this safe to drive on or what could it be?
I found a 2000 lifted jeep cherokee with low miles for a very good price. The only catch is it has rolled on its side. There are a few minor damages that I’m not worried about such as windshield replacement a broken sway bar linkage and it needs a new side view mirror. I should be able to afford these things. The thing I’m most worried about is the A pillar. Its bent which caused the windshield to break. The previous owner said he had a replacement. My question is, how easy and how much would it cost to simply switch out the pieces. I don’t know anything about car body work and I only have about $1500 to work with in total. So with all the other repairs would this be worth buying and fixing up?
walk around of my 1993 Jeep Cherokee. 40 series flowmaster muffler 2 1/2 inch mandral bent pipe built from bends off of e-bay. Dumped before the axle. This video does not do justice of how great it sounds in person. Taken from a digital camera.
1993 Jeep Wrangler YJ 2.5l 4 cyl 5 speed. I am looking into buying this guy’s wrangler but he says it has a coolant leak at the head gasket. Should i not buy this or should i fix it, if i fix it, around how much would a shop charge me.
The noise started a couple of weeks ago. It is deep, loud noise with a little vibration from under the center of the car (we feel it on our bums.) It only happens when we are decelerating (foot off gas) or braking at over 30 mpr. We took it to a mechanic twice. First time, the sound was minimal and he said it could be the CV boot. It was not that. Second time, the sound was loud. The mechanic said it is probably the bearing in the back passenger side but he can’t fix it. Can we drive the car while looking a mechanic to fix it and if so, for how long before it becomes dangerous?
When i bought the jeep the guy put power windows in and its so frustrating when i take off my doors off or when its time to put them back on rewiring the windows. I’d love to change it back to manual, so i was wondering how much it would cost and how to do it.
