Greetings. i have a 1997 honda civic dx and i was wondering if it has a clutch cable or is it hydrolics? my reason is i have recently noticed a very weak clutch pedal. i was at first able to pump it a few times and it would tighten up and shift. my 2 answers i received stated slave cylinder and other was referring to clutch cable adjustment. i need more detail if it needs bleeding or a simple adjustment and if so how abouts doing this? thanks much appreciated
My son has a 2000 honda accord and needs to replace the passenger side low beam bulb. He bought a replacement bulb at napa, he is out of work and really can’t afford to buy a whole manual to replace this bulb. Previously a honda technician was able to help with some questions on the transmission. Can anyone give a step-by-step guide to installing this bulb? He seems to be confused by some phillip head screws that are near the back of the bulb. I told him they are probably for adjustment and I believe a tube is in the way (air intake?) so it would probably be easy for someone who has done this a few times. I can’t physically help him since he is in WA and I am in CA. So thank you, if you can give us a blow-by-blow account on how to do this without screwing anything up.
Okay… free taco sauce to the one who tells me what the HELL is wrong here. I cleaned the carb 6 times, checked the reeds, I have great fuel flow, excellent spark. What the FUCK? LOL… It will idle pretty good for the most part, but once you give it gas, you get a big cloud of smoke and *insert dying animal sound here* it’s dead. When I first got this thing together, it ran absolutely perfect, even though the auto bystarter is missing from the carburetor. Someone… PLEASE HELP…
How would I know if the clutch is bad by looking at it? And how do I know if it’s the clutch vs the transmission? I know it doesnt go ANYWHERE whenever you put it into gear. But I havent checked the clutch yet. I’ve never worked on a car with a manual transmisison, it’s always been an automatic.
I recently purchased my first motorcycle, it’s a 1986 honda rebel 450. I got it for a great price, and it runs fine except for a couple things. Long story short, the diaphragm on one of the vacuum pistons has two small rips in it(less than one centimeter each). I need a replacement, except the part has been discontinued by honda. Is there another brand I could use? Is there a way I could repair the rips? Or does anyone know of a good source for vintage honda parts? Carburetors in particular.
Thanks in advance for you help, it’s much appreciated.
I have a Honda Civic 2004 and I was wondering what does it have; a timing belt or timing chain. And could somebody plz tell me in how many miles it needs to be changed. It has 94k miles on it.
Wondering if I’m in this boat alone… In Oct ’03 I bought a used ’03 Odyssey w/ 7-yr used vehicle warranty. After being reassigned to Germany my transmission failed. Per the manual, the warranty is only valid in the U.S. but the local dealer told me Honda policy honored the warranty for military members who were moved overseas and shipped the Honda w/them. I called Honda (1-800-999-1009) and explained my circumstances. The did, in fact, state that the U.S.-only clause was waived for the military and that I could have the repairs done at the German Honda dealer and would be reimbursed. I had to fax them a copy of my travel orders and shipping documents… no sweat. That was in Sep 06… today I called them to see what the delay was and I was told that they DO NOT honor the overseas work under the warranty. Could not explain why I was told otherwise, but simply said they will not pay the reimbursement. Ouch! Anyone have a similar experience and, if so, how’d you handle it?
I just purchased a 1978 Honda Twinstar and was wondering if I need to replace my ignition coil. I removed it this evening and measured its resistance with an ohm meter. It is registering at .6 ohms.
I have a 2001 Honda CR125 dirtbike, and it’s time for a rebuild. I’m planning on taking it to my local dealer to have them rebuild it, but I want a good ruff estimate first on how much this may cost me. Possibly if anyone out there has had any experience with this? Maybe you could tell me around how much it would be to look over my engine and pretty much replace anything that needs replaced and rebuild the top end. Any input is greatly appreciated!! Thank you!!
Car stalls after starting. Fuel lines were checked OK. A friend suspects incorrect firing order. Found that firing order was different in comparison from the book. But why was it running before? The distributor was replaced by the dealer but refused to give me anything about this unless I make an appointment for service. My problem now besides the firing order being different. This whole thing started after a routine oil change and used 10w-30 instead of 5w-30. What is going on? I want to take my car now for repair but I need to know what to tell the mechanic. Oh and my other mistake was allowing my friend to reconnect the wires like what was in the book and found out later holding a screwdriver. I said if we have it on video, at least we’ll have an idea how much did we do. Would appreciate any help.
