I’ve been wanting to cut the catalytic converter out of my car for a long, long time. I finally got the tools to do it today. The difference in power and sound is amazing, to the point where I suspect that the converter may have been clogged with debris. It’s too loud to run on the street at the moment, but I’m working on buttoning up the pipes, and routing it through the muffler.
Its a 1986 chevy custom deluxe with 33″ BFG Mud Terains. Its got Summit headers with dual 2 1/4″ pipes. no cats, and flowmasters. and a 1988 305 with a 4 barrel Edelbrock 600 cfm carb.
My Cammed Tiburon with a new exhaust system and as well, now have a Stage IV Intake Manifold (Upper and Lower) and ECU Reflash with a 7300 Rev Limiter.
Newly installed LPP Stainless Steel Longtube headers on my Sierra. Best fitting headers i’ve ever seen, excellent quality, great sound, and nice improvement in power all around. Definitely worth the 500 bucks. Exhaust is 3″ piping from the Y back to a single 3″ Dynomax Ultraflo muffler (Welded race muffler, not bullet or anything goofy). Dumped right before the rear axle.
my 66 coupe GT With Patriot headers. Engine mods are comp cams,302 crank, edelbrock intake manifold and 650cfm carb. soon to add is high rise intake for hood scoop and 351W heads.
I have a 1990 Toyota Celica GT, with the 2.2L 5SFE engine, hooked up to a five speed tranny. I am considering purchasing a set of 4-1 headers for my car. Would this be a bad thing, if I am running on the stock muffler, or would the stock muffler hold back the performance gains in any way?
BTW- would I notice a sound change, if I don’t change the muffler?
Thanks in advance
EXACT SAME CLIP, but from a second angle, using my crap HP camera. This camera was there mostly to showcase the body twisting with the throttle. This is how my car sounds now that I’ve got a 228R cam, Kooks longtube headers, and Corsa Touring exhaust. And it’s quiet on the highway. Thank you Corsa! Thanks to Josh and Dustin at premierautosportstn.com for installing the cam, valvetrain, headers, and exhaust.
