I have a late model Chevy 350 but I don’t know what year it is. I am trying to locate the engine # on the block. The engine is in the vehicle and functional so some spots are hard to see on the block. I think I found the number near the distributor close to the dash in the back but I can’t quite make out all of the numbers. Am I looking in the right place?
Last summer, the family noticed that the A/C wasn’t working very well in the car. I took it to a dealer to have them fix it. A month later, the A/C went out again. I took it back to the dealer and they claimed it was a different part, not covered under warranty of the first repair, and charged me for the repair. By this time, the weather turned cold so I could not determine how well it was fixed.
At the beginning of this summer, I noticed it wasn’t working again. I took it to a different shop. They said it was yet another part that failed, had it fixed, and it lasted a week! I took it back to them, and this shop said the same thing as the dealership last summer — Different part, more money.
Suspicious, I took this for a 2nd opinion. They looked at it and said “it’s not this part, it’s that part”
If you put dye in the system to find a leak, doesn’t the dye go everywhere and if there’s more than one part “leaking” you can determine that?
“Recouping” the costs of the repairs I’ve endured so far as one answer suggests, I would not know how to begin. I would think that it is considered a service met, and I’m afraid the shops will win the dispute, arguing the same argument as they did with me. But after spending $1200 in repairs already………
Can anyone tell me where in the city of Dse Plaines, IL, near Oakton & Wolf or anywhere east on Oakton, that I can get at least three estimates for the cost to repair damage to my car done by another driver? I have to find at least 3 estimates and pass them on to the other driver and he has to choose and agree on the least expensive one that I have to agree, does quality work, at least that’s what the Police officer that investigated the accident told us. Could anyone give me some trustworthy and competent shops in those areas? If I choose one of them, it’s because I want to be able to drop the car off and get to work without a struggle. Thanks in advance.
I hadn’t taken off the throttle body and hose before and when i shined a flashlight into the intake manifold i could see a small puddle of oil resting at the bottom.
My Mother owns a 1929 Model A Ford and is cosidering selling it. It has been restored years ago and has all of its parts. It runs and is turned over to keep it’s engine running ok. Is there a website or something we could look into, to help determine it’s value? I tried to look online and can’t find this exact car.
Thanks for any help.
