Drivers side is not working at all, ( started going up a little then stopping all together ) now my passengers side is doing the same thing. Key Items: Make sure your vehicle is negativly grounded. This means the negative side of the battery gets connected to the frame. Make sure you have the correct engine before ordering Alternator brackets. GM and Chevy had different engines, and the brackets are different for the alternator. Make sure you replace all the light bulbs. They will burn out quick if you don’t. I take them all out, count how many of each I need, and then run to the auto parts store and match the base with a 12 volt bulb. I have never had an issue finding a replacement. The rear tail lights on this vehicle are LED. The customer supplied me with them and I think they are from Brothers Trucks. They are extremly bright and very much worth the money. YOU WILL BE DISSAPOINTED IN THE INTENSITY IF YOU JUST CHANGE THE REAR TAIL LIGHT BULBS! I have a 92 k1500 with a 350 5spd with 230,000, I just bought a used motor 350 and transmission 700r4 auto that was from an 87 blazer, it has the same setup like i do in my truck now tbi, but I dont what else i need to get this to work in my truck. I would like to put a floor mounted shifter on so i dont have to change the steering column. I have the wire harness and computer from the blazer, but i dont know if it will work, does anyone have some knowledge on this procedure. I also need to find the year of the engine to get the right parts does anyone know how to do this? i know by the casting number that it is 1986 and up thats it. please help
So do I need to get a new driveshaft(s) or will it bolt right into my transfer case so i dont need to change them?
I have a whole new setup that is together 350 with a 700r4, allready together that was directly taken out of the blazer, and the shifter i am going to get is a floor mounted one so i dont need to change the steering column this shifter has a built in nuetral safety switch.
I’ve always been interested in these buses WAY more than the 1968-1978 buses (which you can actually FIND with automatic transmission), and since I’ve never driven a vehicle with manual transmission, I would just be curious if it would be possible. Now, I know it will be VERY expensive, yet that isn’t my worry at the time.
Also, I know I’ve heard of people transplanting Volkswagen Rabbit engines (at least, i think it was Rabbits) into the old buses, but I wasn’t sure how that worked, if it was possible with just certain generations of buses, etc. So, if you know exactly what engine the transplant could be done with, that would just be even better!
