Smart-throttle technology enables the brake pedal to override the accelerator in an emergency situation. Our tests show that a brake override is practical in the real world, without diminishing enthusiast driving.

My brake lights stay on all the time, even with car ignition off and key out. I replaced the fuse and can only guess that it is the brake light switch that may be stuck. Problem is that I can’t find it. Is it on the master cylinder or way under the brake pedal arm?
I bought a brand new car (hyundai accent) and it becoming a year now,, i have a problem w/ my brake.. how much I pay if I want to send it to the mechanic to fix my brake?? I noticed a litle bumpy every time I press the brake.. thank you guys..
I recently had the front rotors and pads on a 2000 Grand am SE. when I went to pump the brakes with the car off, the pedal became firm, then when I turned the car on, the pedal became spongy and unresponsive. Took it back to the mechanic a few days later, they said they would bleed the brakes, yet the pedal is still spongy, Master cylinder is fine, worked perfectly before the pads/rotors change. Could this be perhaps that they did not do a full system brake bleed?? PLEASE help, winter is coming and i want to have good brakes for the snow!! I heard maybe the brake pads just need to be worn in, if this is true, how long will it take for my brakes to go back to normal? Also wondering how much it could cost if i take it to someone to bleed the entire system and do nothing else? thanks
yes they only changed the rotors and brake pads, they did mess with the caliper because it needed to be lubed up because there was a lot of brake dust which caused the caliper to get dry… so they did lube those up… i have already been to them twice and was there for 2 hours the second time to try to fix the problem. brakes are still spongy.. any other ideas?
yes car stops well when i slam on the brakes all the way to floor, and when i push the pedal down fast is does stpo well, seems that it just takes it a second and that when applying my brakes with the new pads… they are not as touchy as they were before. when i would slightly press the pedal i would already be starting to stop.. now i have to press the pedal more to stop slightly.. other than pressing firmly all the way, the car does stop….
if the brake booster is bad, then would that have affected it before i got new break pads? because i didn’t have a problem like this before they were replaced. what would cause a sudden bad brake booster? i just want to have brakes that work again without spending a lot of $$$$
thanks
My brakes completely went out yesterday on my 2001 Hyundai Sonata. I replaced the pads about 6 months ago, and last year had a rear wheel bearing replaced. The mechanic said that the faulty wheel bearing ruined a piece in my emergency brake system, so I had him remove the emergency brake components, rather than pay to repair that also. The brakes became soft over the course of a few days, and the other day, the “brake” light on my instrument panel came on. I had brakes for the rest of that trip (2 hours), but got into the car the next day, and the brakes were gone. i checked my brake fluid resevoir, and it was low. So I filled it up, and let the car sit for 2 days. Upon inspection, the brake fluid resevoir is empty again, and the car has not moved. There is obviously a leak, but how do I go about finding it? Thank you.
The brake lights stay on even if the car is turned off. The only way I can keep them off right now is to remove the fuse. Is the repair as simple as perhaps replacing a wire? Or is it going to involve much more? I tried looking up diagrams and such and haven’t found anything yet. Thank you in advance.

I’m currently doing some research so I hope you guys can really help me out here.
Mercedes Benz has a two system (i think) for their braking lights, one is that they it will be ON (as what we normally see) when normal braking is applied (slowing down or stopping) and two (which is their newest system) is that they will FLASH (I think for the 3rd brake light) when emergency braking is applied. How do they do that? Do they work with the speed sensors or pressure applied to the brake pedal or what? How is it done?
About a month ago I was rear ended at a red light. My car still ran so I drove it from the accident site, 2 days later after working out the insurance I took it in to get fixed. I got it back about 2 1/2 weeks later, just befor I got home I stopped at a stop sign and my back breaks kind of grinded and shuttered and my ABS light on my dash came on. The next day I took it back to the shop to ask him about it and the guy told me my rear discs may be warped but it had nothing to do with the accident. Now everytime I stop a bit suddenly or on a downhill my ABS light comes on as well as my brake light and my brakes shutter. Im not saying the guy is wrong, but it just seems strange to me that the 2 days I drove it after the accident it was fine and then on my way home from the shop it started this. Could this have been caused from the accident, or possibly the repair? I know the guy bent my frame back into place a little if that means anything. Also its a 2001 4wd Chevy Blazer.
Sorry its actually the parking brake light that comes on with the ABS light.
It looks like I need a new brake light switch on my 1999 Dodge Neon. I know that I can get a new one for under $20. In general, how much will a mechanic charge for labor? I’m going to try to fix it myself, however I’m not all that good with cars.
