I looked up how to drive a manual transmission and I think it’s pretty complicated. So i was wondering if they are gonna have a option of an automatic transmission for the RWD Tiburon.

Wondering if it is possible for a mazda protege 1990, just because i’m tired of repairing the automatic one. What extra parts do I need for the conversion and is it possible?

I used to drive manual long time ago and ever since I moved to North America I have been driving Automatic. I have to admit that I am missing manual.
I am in the process of purchasing a new Toyota Camry. I have an option of automatic and a manual. It is not that I do not know how to drive manual. In fact, I love driving it.
It is just that I am coming across rumors that Manual is not a preferred type in North America because of weather. People are saying that Manual in Eastern NA where it snows a lot will not be a good option. I will have to get it serviced quite often in snow weather.
Also, could someone tell me if mechanics are more comfy with manuals or automatic. Would I be able to find mechanics for manual here and there
Much appreciate
Thanks all

I have a 2008 Silverado 1500 with a 4L60E transmission. The trucks I drive at work are 2008 Silverado 2500HD models with a diesel and the renowned Allison transmission. The biggest difference (apart from being a diesel) is that the 2500 seems to stick in gear longer than my truck. For example, if I let off the gas in my 1500, it’s got a smooth feel and doesn’t really feel like the engine is engaged to the transmission anymore. But on the 2500, letting off the accelerator feels like you’re driving a manual; the truck lurches forward because of the engine brake. It’s got a more solid feel to it. What causes this?
Would it not be a lower stall speed on the torque converter?

Hi, I bought a manual car about 7 months ago, thinking I would be able to get my manual licence. However, I failed the test 3 times, and had been learning how to drive a manual 18 months before I took the test. I find that I make many more mistakes when driving under the stress of test conditions, and made hardly any when in the relaxed atmosphere of a lesson. I then realized that normal driving could get just as stressful as a test, and that an automatic would be the best option for me in terms of confidence and safety. Now the problem is – I have a rather nice Daihatsu Sirion (2003 model), that has done just 30,000 kms. My question is – is it possible to buy (from a wrecker or spare parts business) an automatic transmission of the same make and model as my current car, and replace the manual transmission? Or should I just trade my current car in for an automatic? I’d prefer the cheaper (and safer) option, as trading my car in would most likely involve me needing a loan from the bank.

I have a 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse RS 2.0 non-turbo automatic front wheel drive. It has plenty of transmission fluid in it and it looks fine. When trying to drive it on the road/flat ground it slips & revs out, then will grab hard, and then slip all over again. If I drive it up my driveway, or around my yard (both uphill) it drives fine. Reverse works fine either way. What could be wrong? Is the transmission completely junk or could there be something dumb wrong with it that can be fixed?

I’m learning how to drive a manual from my cousin & he’s always driven a manual transmission & I’ve always driven an automatic, so we’re always fighting about which is best, now really I mind having an automatic/manual but my question is, in Jan. I’m buying my first car “A BMW” & I’m not sure which transmission to go for, now I’m learning how to drive a manual from my cousin & so far I like it & want to ask the people who have driven both (Preferably BMW), which gives the best performance, Mileage & so on also I’ve been looking at the SMG models so if you’ve driven that as-well just give me your take on it.
“Thanks Advance”

I love my cars (I have 5 of them) and learned to drive a stick several years ago. You know when they say once you try something you never go back? That ain’t necessarily true but I haven’t bought a automatic transmission car in years. I love driving manual transmission vehicles (I think it’s more fun!) and want to know how you feel. Thanks.
(Manual cars get better gas mileage and you know we really need that now!)

I have ford Taurus, toke it to the shop yesterday, all oil levels were normal and it drove and shifted fine, I drove all around town yesterday, (in Texas where everything is like an hour away), I didn’t notice any leaks and this morning I drove it to school and back no problems, while driving on campus all of sudden it start to not go correctly when I stop, the rpm would go up but not the actually speed, so I immediately bring it to the shop and they say my transmission oil levels are normal, but my transmission may be slipping if I’m having troubles, so I bring it to the transmission shop immediately after and they say its a major oil leak, from the front, you can see the oil dripping trail mark. The thing is I just bought the car, could it have been something that been going on or just happened if I drove it all day yesterday and most of today and had no problems. I’m just really stressing out right now, do you think it might be a major repair?
The guy at the transmission shop said they would take it out and do an inspection on it, if the leak is that major then I don’t think it was like that yesterday because I literally drove it for about an hour and a half straight to get back to dallas and drove around town afterwards, and today till I returned back to campus when it suddenly started messing up.
Also how long do you think it takes with a major oil leak to empty out the transmission oil
