I am looking to get me car repaired with used transmission, so just want to know how much it should cost me, I live in Washington DC. USA
A transmission swap will typically cost you between $700-$1000 if you’re using a used transmission.
Having the transmission rebuilt/a new transmission installed will typically double that cost.
you would have to call around your area and also price a rebuilt one off the shelf.
I paid $1200 for a used trans installed like 9 years ago. I imagine it should still be right around that same price.
I would recomment buying a rebuilt trans, even online, rather than putting another used one in it. You can probably get one for less than a grand. You might be able to get it installed for less than $500 if you’re lucky.
