Eagle Talon Engines,heard About Problems Any Year Rebuildible?

i see some cars around they all seam to have problems with the engines what is up with them can they be rebuilt or replaced what years are involved

    The most common problem is valves hitting the pistons. The early 90s models don’t have a rev limiter (not sure about the later ones, but I think they’re the same), so if you miss a gear change, you will over-rev the engine, and valve bounce will cause them to hit. Also, they are an interference fit, so if the timing belt breaks, the engine is usually toast (pretty common, since people dopn’t like making repairs until something actually breaks – especially kids with limited incomes.)
    Other than that, I had no problems with mine (I had a ’93 Eclipse 2.0 – 16 valve twiin-cam – but it’s the same mechanicals as the Talon – just keep away from the single cam version.)
