Can knock sensor cause cylinder misfire?

I have 03 audi a4 and always get cylinder 4 misfire. Spark plugs, coils, injectors, everything has been checked and nothing helped. It also shows p0328 error, which is knock sensor. So my question is, can knock sensor cause cylinder 4 misfire and if yes, why only cylinder 4?
It usually misfires on low rpm, for example when I stay at a traffic light.

Please don’t press me for a logical explanation, but I suspect that once the knock sensor code is fixed (reseat connector, replace sensor, whatever) the cylinder 4 misfire may disappear.

The wild card is what the ECU chooses to do when it can’t rely on the knock sensor to protect your engine. Normally, if it hears a bit of a ping it will kick the timing back a bunch to put an end to that nonsense. Without a reliable sensor it must do something under higher throttle conditions… but what?

Anyway, my advice is to get the knock sensor under control first and see if the misfire remains.

If your ecu is detecting knock it will pull timing on the engine. It could cause a misfire and the engine losing power, as for why cylinder 4, I’m not sure. Replace your knock sensor before your engine gets damaged from running extremely pulled timing (especially could cause problems at higher RPMs)
