Blinking Check Engine Light And Burning Smell On A 1998 Prelude?

this has happened to me twice at high RPM my check engine light comes on and starts blinking then when im idling i get a burning smell. The car has a small oil leak which might be the problem and i replaced the sparks plugs the 1st time it happened but, it just happened again any suggestions?

My suggestion is to get it to a shop and let a professional take a look at it.

Blinking light is usually not good. I’m not sure about Honda specifically but for many makes, a solid CEL means a fault has been detected and should be looked after soon. A blinking light means something major happened and you should pull over, stop the engine, and have the vehicle towed if possible to prevent any further possible damage.

blinking light means misfire which will damage your catalytic converter if not fixed asap. tow it to a dealer
